Student participants and members of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Hong Kong Garrison attended a flag-raising ceremony at San Wai Barracks in Fanling on Monday, marking the opening of a military summer camp.
This year’s event combines for the first time the 19th Hong Kong Youth Military Summer Camp and the 13th Military Life Experience Camp for Hong Kong tertiary students, bringing together around 500 secondary school and university students.
During the 14-day immersive program, participants undergo basic military training, attend specialized lectures on national defense, and engage in outdoor survival skills to enhance their discipline, physical fitness, and patriotic spirit.
