A pet carnival was held in Shenzhen on Friday, aiming to boost summer travel with pets and promoting a new lifestyle among young people.
The event, hosted by Ping An Insurance, offered offline activities that included pet shows and a pet-themed music party, as well as online services such as travel arrangements, grooming and health consultations.
The event came as China's pet economy has continued to grow in recent years, driven increasingly by younger pet owners in urban areas. In first-tier cities, most pet owners belong to the post-1990s generation.
As pets become more closely connected with family life, pet-related consumption has expanded beyond basic supplies to include healthcare, travel and lifestyle services.
