PLA naval task force to visit Hong Kong

A naval task force of the People’s Liberation Army will visit the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region starting Thursday and will be open for public visits and for cultural exchange activities, according to a statement from the Ministry of National Defense.

The guided-missile destroyer CNS Nanning and the guided-missile frigate CNS Hengyang will dock in the city from Thursday until next Monday.

The five-day event is designed to offer compatriots in Hong Kong and Macao SARs a more direct and comprehensive view of the PLA's development and modernization efforts in the new era, read the statement.
