China, US to discuss reciprocal tariff cuts under trade council

BEIJING – China and the United States have agreed to establish a trade council under which the economic and trade teams of the two sides will discuss cooperation, including reciprocal tariff reductions, China's commerce ministry said Thursday.

The two economic and trade teams will conduct further consultations on the matter, He Yadong, spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce, said at a regular media conference.

Trade cooperation between China and the United States in the aircraft and agricultural sectors is mutually beneficial and win-win, He said, adding that the two teams will continue to maintain communication, encourage and guide their respective enterprises to strengthen linkages and expand trade cooperation in relevant fields.
