ChaoGlobal, an online and offline platform designed to support foreign companies in their international business endeavors, was launched on Monday during the annual CBD forum in Beijing.
The initiative, prepared by Beijing's Chaoyang district and its Central Business District, aims to leverage the economic strength of the area to assist businesses in expanding globally, rather than focusing solely on domestic firms.
As the first platform of its kind developed by a district-level government and its thriving business area, ChaoGlobal will provide a comprehensive suite of services.
They will encompass guidance on overseas investment filings, policy consultation, risk management, professional resource connections and the development of international collaboration networks.
Wu Xiaojie, Party chief of Chaoyang, said: "The district's CBD hosts the headquarters of most multinationals in Beijing, international organizations, and a growing number of international science and technology organizations. We are eager to provide more support in finance, science and technology, intellectual property rights, personnel, technological links and AI-empowered scenarios."
ChaoGlobal is part of the district's broader initiative to implement the 10 major actions announced by Beijing authorities on Monday to enhance its business and investment climate.
Other actions include AI-supported business environments, streamlined customs services, data sharing, integrated services of bank cards and SIM cards, and advanced scenarios for AI, internet of vehicles and biomedicine sectors, according to Xu Lingwei, a senior official at the Beijing Municipal Commission of Development and Reform.
Magnus Sprenger, a board member of the German Chamber of Commerce in China — North China, said: "The uniqueness of Chaoyang's CBD lies in its talented personnel, innovation capacity, and smart urban governance."
In recent years, the CBD has undergone significant transformation, with an increasing number of foreign science and technology organizations establishing a presence. "This indicates the transformation of the CBD to accelerate GDP growth," said Wu.
