Entry to the Hong Kong Palace Museum and M+ will free on July 1, as part of celebrations for the 29th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
Visitors planning to enter the Hong Kong Palace Museum on July 1 can register online for free general admission tickets covering Galleries 1 to 7.
Booking opened at 10:00 am on Friday through the museum’s website, the West Kowloon Cultural District website, the West Kowloon Cultural District mobile app, or via the Cityline ticketing platform. Tickets will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
For those wishing to view the special exhibitions Treasures of Global Jewellery from The Metropolitan Museum of Art: The Body Transformed in Gallery 8 and Ancient Egypt Unveiled: Treasures from Egyptian Museums in Gallery 9, special exhibition tickets can be purchased online or on-site. Visitors with special exhibition tickets can also access the thematic exhibitions.

At M+, designated exhibitions will be open to the public free of charge on July 1 without the need for advance booking.
Visitors should enter through the Art Plaza entrance, as some other entrances will be closed that day.
To ensure a quality experience, M+ will limit the number of people entering based on on-site conditions, and visitors may be required to queue as directed by staff. The museum will be open from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm.
The new special exhibition Design Ah! Experience the Wonder of Everyday Design, opening on June 27, will require separate tickets.
Ticket holders can enjoy priority access to the exhibitions Ryuichi Sakamoto | seeing sound, hearing time and Lee Bul: From 1998 to Now, as well as access to the M+ Lounge on the 11th floor—which is normally reserved for M+ Members and Patrons.
Donation Kiosks
In a separate initiative starting the same day, the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority (WKCDA) will install 10 self-service donation kiosks across the cultural district, enabling visitors to support arts and cultural development through electronic payments.
All contributions will first be received by the West Kowloon Cultural District Foundation Ltd, a wholly owned charitable subsidiary of WKCDA, and will then be allocated to M+, the Hong Kong Palace Museum, the Performing Arts Division, or the authority in support of their programs.
