
BEIJING – China is ready to work with the US side to translate the new vision of bilateral ties into actions in the same direction, to jointly promote the steady, sound, and sustainable development of bilateral relations, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said here on Thursday.
Guo Jiakun, spokesperson for the ministry, made the statement while responding to a query at a regular press conference.
Chinese President Xi Jinping held talks with US President Donald Trump on Thursday morning, during which the two sides reached common understandings on the new vision of building a constructive China-US relationship of strategic stability, which is expected to provide strategic guidance for bilateral relations over the next three years and beyond, he said.
Meanwhile, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce said the same day that China is ready to work with the United States to continuously expand the list of cooperation and shorten the list of problems in the spirit of equality, respect and mutual benefit, and promote the healthy, stable and sustainable development of bilateral economic and trade ties.
Ministry spokesperson He Yongqian made the remarks while commenting on the China-US economic and trade consultations held in the Republic of Korea on Wednesday local time.
Guided by the important common understandings between the two heads of state and in line with the principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation, the two sides held candid, in-depth and constructive exchanges on addressing economic and trade issues of mutual concern and further expanding pragmatic cooperation, the spokesperson added.
