This year's National Security Education Day will be held on Wednesday under the theme "Proactively Align with the 15th Five-Year Plan: Follow a Holistic Approach to Development and Security."

Stressing that marking the start of the National 15th Five-Year Plan, 2026 is a pivotal year for Hong Kong as it moves from stability to prosperity, Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu said the special administrative region will actively align with the 15th Five-Year Plan, providing clear guidance for the city's future economic, social, and livelihood development, and enhancing its integration into and contribution to the overall national development.

The National Security Education Day, observed on April 15 each year, was established under the National Security Law enacted in 2015. It aims to raise public awareness of national security issues.
