Island blaze
By Wang Zhan

Emergency services were deployed to Luk Chau Island on the East Lamma Channel after a hillside fire broke out on the island on Monday morning.

A fireboat was seen spraying water on the burning vegetation as white and grey smoke spread out from Luk Chau, which is just across Lamma Island.

The fire, which affected an area of 100 meters by 50 meters, was eventually brought under control at 2:18 pm, according to the Fire Services Department.

It added that 27 firefighters, two fireboats, two firetrucks, and a helicopter were deployed to put out the blaze.
