BEIJING - China's position of firmly opposing the US arms sales to China's Taiwan region is consistent and clear, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said Friday.
Spokesperson for the ministry Guo Jiakun told a regular news briefing that the United States should earnestly adhere to the one-China principle and the three China-US joint communiques, particularly the August 17 Communique, cease arms sales to Taiwan, and take concrete actions to maintain the stable development of China-US relations as well as peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait.
