The Hong Kong Observatory issued a cold weather warning on Tuesday afternoon as an intense winter monsoon gradually began affecting the city.

The observatory said Hong Kong could expect cloudy and persistently cold weather in the next few days, with the minimum temperature in urban areas falling to 12 degrees Celsius on Wednesday morning and 11°C on Thursday.

The Centre for Health Protection of the Department of Health reminded the public to take appropriate measures to protect their health amid the cold weather.
