China: Japan official's remarks about possessing nuclear weapons not isolated incident

BEIJING - The recent remarks on possessing nuclear weapons by a senior Japanese official are by no means an isolated incident, which exposed the consistent erroneous stance of Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi and Japan's right-wing forces, sending an extremely dangerous signal, a Foreign Ministry spokesperson said here Wednesday.

Lin Jian made the remarks at a regular news briefing in response to a query about a senior official from the Japanese prime minister's office brazenly claiming that Japan should have nuclear weapons.
