HONG KONG – The annual Hong Kong Computer & Communications Festival will start on Aug 22 as the city’s premier tech event, showcasing cutting-edge innovations under the theme unbounded AI and unlimited business opportunities.

The four-day exhibition features more than 800 booths with over 200 local and international exhibitors, highlighting advancements in artificial intelligence, smart devices, and digital solutions.

Key attractions include an AI and digital transformation zone, featuring forums with star speakers from industry leaders Google and NVIDIA. There will also be a robot zone, allowing visitors to operate robots and explore how automation and e-mobility are shaping smart, eco-friendly cities.

General ticket is priced at HK$35, and all ticket holders will receive a lucky card worth HK$10 to HK$500, usable at participating booths.

Tourists can enjoy the festival with free admission, while the first 2,000 registered tourists will receive HK$100 cash vouchers for unrestricted use at the exhibition. Other promotions include the "HK$20 Flash Sale," where attendees can purchase select electronics for just HK$20 each during specific time slots throughout the event.

Book fair with cultural-tech fusion

The 2025 Guangzhou Book Fair, part of the Southern China Book Fair, began on Friday and will run through Tuesday, transforming the city into a temporary gateway for literature lovers with over 120 themed reading activities to showcase the city’s dynamic development.

This year's edition brings 28 publishing units and 41 exhibitors from diverse industries to jointly offer readers a new “Reading+” integrated experience with an innovative “1+3+1+N” format: one main venue at Canton Fair Complex, three types of satellite venues – physical book stores, themed reading spaces, a health-focused section – and a digital cloud venue on WeChat, and numerous activities.

Key exhibitions will spotlight Guangzhou's cultural heritage, with live author talks. Other highlights include AI-powered exhibits by iFLYTEK, NetEase Youdao's e-reading tech, and JD's smart displays.

A dedicated animation zone merges publications with trendy designer toys, while a sports-themed section celebrates the upcoming 15th National Games with mascot appearances and limited-edition trading cards.

New quality productivity exhibition

The 33rd Guangzhou Fair is set to take place from Aug 22 to 24 at the China Import and Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou, with the exhibition scale increasing by 50 percent over the previous edition.

The fair will feature a special Guangzhou new quality productivity exhibition zone, and for the first time, establish dedicated areas for robot performances and Guangzhou consumption assistance exhibitions.

The exhibition covers specialized sections including innovative inventions, urban renewal, automotive aftermarket, consumption assistance, packaging, elderly care and health, medical services and many other facets. More than 3,200 business associations and enterprises have been invited to attend as buyers.          

Beverage innovation

CAFEEX 2025 Shenzhen International Coffee Exhibition will be held at Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center on Aug 22.

The three-day exhibition features everything from small-batch artisanal roasting to cutting-edge beverage innovation, alongside the latest advancements in brewing technology and locally manufactured precision coffee equipment.

A strong emphasis on sustainability completes the event, with eco-conscious packaging solutions adding another dimension to this multisensory celebration of coffee culture.
