HK paddlers win men's doubles title at WTT Europe Smash

Hong Kong, China paddlers Wong Chun-ting and Baldwin Chan won the men’s doubles title at the World Table Tennis (WTT) Europe Smash in Malmo, Sweden, on Saturday.

Wong and Chan edged the national team duo of world No 1 Lin Shidong and Huang Youzheng 3-2 to take the crown. The Hong Kong paddlers had dominated top seeds An Jaehyun and Lim Jonghoon in the quarterfinals.

Wong and Chan won the finals with a score of 7-11, 11-9, 4-11, 11-6, and 11-8.

The 2025 WTT Europe Smash, the first Grand Smash event held in Europe, runs from August 14 to 24 in Malmo, featuring men's and women's singles, doubles, and mixed doubles.
