HAIKOU - China's national women's basketball team fell 76-63 to Australia in a warm-up game for the FIBA Asia Cup here on Sunday evening.

Australia surged into a commanding 49-31 lead by halftime. In the second half, Yang Liwei, Han Xu and Yang Shuyu led China's fightback, trimming the deficit to seven points. However, back-to-back three-pointers from Australia halted the comeback, sealing the result.

Han Xu recorded a game-high 15 points and nine rebounds, while Yang Liwei added 10 points for China.

"Our players were immature and flustered today," said China head coach Gong Luming. "We need to improve our physicality and free throw percentage."
