Bahrain's king, Russian president discuss ties, regional security

MANAMA - Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday reviewed bilateral relations during a phone conversation.

Both sides discussed efforts to strengthen and develop ties across various sectors, according to the Bahrain News Agency.

Bahrain's king emphasized the importance of pursuing peace, security, and stability in the region and globally, advocating for diplomatic solutions and dialogue to resolve conflicts in a manner that safeguards regional security.

He expressed hope for achieving comprehensive and lasting peace in the region.

The two leaders also stressed the importance of the upcoming first Arab-Russian Summit, scheduled to take place in Moscow in October, as a key platform for advancing dialogue and cooperation.

For his part, the Russian president expressed his appreciation to the king for his keen interest in continuing to strengthen ties and cooperation between the two countries.
