HONG KONG - Retired long-distance runner and Olympic gold medalist Wang Junxia has recently relocated to Hong Kong with her family under the Quality Migrant Admission Scheme.
On Wednesday, Wang participated in the “Champions Welcome Champions, Talents Gather in Hong Kong” morning run event at Tamar Park, organized by the Hong Kong Talent Service Office, the Hong Kong Jockey Club, and the office of Legislative Council Member Shang Hailong. She was joined by her daughter, Huang Danting.

Nicknamed the “Oriental God Deer”, Wang won gold in the women’s 5,000 meters at the 1996 Atlanta Summer Olympics, finishing with a time of 14:59.88 in the event’s inaugural Olympic appearance.
