The arrest follows that of a 26-year-old man, who was apprehended on Saturday at Luton Airport under the same suspicion. Police confirmed he is still being held after a warrant for further detention was granted by Westminster Magistrates' Court.

Last week, 21-year-old Roman Lavrynovych was formally charged with arson with intent to cause a fire at the prime minister's residence in London.

The investigation into the incidents is being led by the Metropolitan Police's Counter Terrorism Command.
