To fully promote the development strategy of the "eight centers" in Hong Kong and establish Hong Kong as a global hub for high-quality talent, Season One of the "2025 Hong Kong International Talent and Career Expo," focusing on the "Financial, Real Estate, and Professional Services Industries," along with the seminar on "Opportunities and Challenges for International Talents in Hong Kong," was successfully held on April 26 at the Sheraton Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong.

This Expo was guided and supported by the official strategic partners: the Labour and Welfare Bureau of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Hong Kong Talent Engage. It was co-organized by the Hong Kong Quality and Talent Migrants Association, the Hong Kong Management Association, and the Hong Kong Economic Journal, and undertaken by the Hong Kong Talents Group. The expo aims to integrate resources from different sectors of Hong Kong, provide opportunities for direct and mutual connections between talent and enterprises, help high-quality talent come to Hong Kong and stay to realize their potential, and contribute to Hong Kong’s position as one of the "eight centers."

With the theme "Talents Gather in Hong Kong, Innovate for the Future, Careers Await You," the expo featured a variety of activities, including corporate displays, career recruitment, policy promotion, talent exchanges, talent services, and professional seminars. Season One of the expo attracted many officials and leaders from government, business, and academia, along with nearly 50 well-known companies in finance, real estate, and professional services, offering thousands of job positions. Over 3,000 talents from various parts of the world participated in the expo, hoping to find ideal jobs in Hong Kong. Some even received offers on-site after successful interviews. Loman Luo, Chairman of the Hong Kong Quality and Talent Migrants Association, noted that half of these talents hold a master's degree or higher from top universities and possess extensive work experience. He believes that this professional Expo will certainly attract a significant number of new talents to Hong Kong, bringing fresh ideas and vitality while contributing to the city. The atmosphere at the venue was lively, and more than 30 prominent media outlets from mainland China and Hong Kong reported on the expo.

Secretary for Labour and Welfare Chris Sun Yuk-han delivered a speech at the opening ceremony, noting that the government has revised the talent list to address current market needs, expanding it to include 60 different professions. He highlighted Hong Kong's unique advantages under "One Country, Two Systems" amidst global changes and uncertainties, emphasizing the government's aim to attract, retain, and utilize talent to enhance Hong Kong's role as a global hub for international talent. He also announced that at least 12 online and offline recruitment fairs and 40 seminars and workshops will be held for talent this year. He hopes every talent who comes to Hong Kong will feel at home.

As the official strategic partner of the expo, Hong Kong Talent Engage set up a booth at the venue to introduce its support services and answer inquiries from participants. Anthony Lau, Director of Hong Kong Talent Engage, stated that they actively organize and co-organize online and offline recruitment activities. In addition to assisting talent in securing employment, Hong Kong Talent Engage also takes the opportunity to communicate directly with talent to understand their needs and provide them with more tailored information on settling in and available support services. He hopes that talent will use this event to connect with employers and integrate into life in Hong Kong as soon as possible after securing employment.

Last but not least, there will be three more seasons of the expo in the coming year: the Second Season on "Technology and Innovation Industries," the Third Season on "Logistics, Shipping, Trade, and E-commerce Industries," and the Fourth Season on "Cultural Creativity and Education Industries." Talents and companies in these various fields should pay attention to the related information.
