An equipment fault on an engineer’s train near the Fo Tan MTR station disrupted East Rail Line services on Sunday morning.
Train services were delayed for up to 21 minutes after the engineer’s train broke down near Fo Tan station around 5 am, the MTR said.
It said train services between Admiralty and Lok Ma Chau via Racecourse were at 21-minute intervals while those between Admiralty and Lo Wu stations were at 10-minute intervals. Passengers going from Tai Wai to Admiralty had to wait up for up to eight minutes before a train arrived.
Services between Tai Po Market and Lok Ma Chau stations also had to be adjusted to 10-minute intervals while trains from Admiralty to Sha Tin arrived after five-minute intervals.
