Hong Kong is going to hold the first Global Talent Summit on May 7-8 to showcase the city’s distinctive advantages as an international talent hub.

The summit will bring together Chinese mainland and international leaders from various sectors to exchange trends and experiences in talent development, promoting Hong Kong's dual role and advantages as an international talent hub and the country's gateway for talent.

It presents the International Talent Forum and the 2nd Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area High-quality Talent Development Conference, as well as a CareerConnect Expo.

Extended business stay

The period of stay for mainland residents who hold business endorsements to Hong Kong and Macao will be extended from seven days to 14 days from May 6.

The National Immigration Administration recently issued the new entry and exit regulations to facilitate business exchanges between the mainland and the two SARs. The authorities also extended the talent endorsement, initially implemented for residents of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in February 2023, to residents of Beijing and Shanghai.

Encounter with art

The 34th Macao Arts Festival, set to be held from May 3 to June 7, presents 19 programs including theaters, Chinese operas, dances, circuses, music performances and visual arts at Macao Cultural Centre.  There’ll also be 23 outreach activities, such as meet-the-artist events, backstage tours, talks, workshops, and film screenings.

Themed Wondrous Encounters, the festival kicks off with a groundbreaking adaptation of a classic in the dance extravaganza Jungle Book reimagined. Other highlights include a boldly featuring all-male rendition of Macbeth, a celebration of traditional Chinese opera with a contemporary twist The Chairs, and local theater productions that explore diverse narratives in the native language.

Unlocking global trade potential

Be a part of the 6th World Customs Organization Global Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) Conference in Shenzhen, from May 8 to 10.

Under the theme "Harnessing the Power of AEO Programmes for Inclusive and Sustainable Global Trade”, the global event will bring together experts from customs administrations, international organizations, government agencies, researchers, academics and industry stakeholders to dive into the transformative potential of AEO programs.

Experience insightful plenary sessions, engage in insightful discussions on empowering women in trade, utilizing technology for risk management, and more. There will also be opportunities to connect with global trade influencers.
