Blooming orchids
By Wang Zhan

Wengyuan, a sub-tropical hilly county in the northern part of Guangdong province has seen its orchid farming sector bloom from none to an annual 3 billion yuan business over the past 25 years.

Orchid farms spanning an area of 35,500 mu (2,366.67 hectares) now supply 60 percent of the orchid species sold in China’s domestic market.

China Daily’s Parker Zheng took the photos on March 15.
