Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu said on Friday that Hong Kong is progressing in the right direction and pledged to further integrate the city into national development, which will bring the special administrative region “infinite opportunities”.

Meeting with the media at Hong Kong International Airport after concluding his trip to the Boao Forum For Asia Annual Conference 2023 in Boao, Hainan province, Lee said he acquired four major gains during the three-day visit.

Aside from confirmed Hong Kong moves along the correct course, Lee said the forum offered him a valuable chance to meet with senior officials and business leaders from the Chinese mainland and abroad, including Feng Fei, Party secretary of Hainan province.

Under the theme “An Uncertain World: Solidarity and Cooperation for Development Amid Challenges”, this year’s forum also saw an initiative to further promote cooperation among global free trade zones, which Lee said he believes will boost Hong Kong.

Lee also said he regarded the forum as an opportunity to further support Hong Kong enterprises and young people. He said he was encouraged to see Hong Kong enterprises operating in a local medical pilot zone and to meet with young Hong Kong volunteers at the forum.
