NBA: Thunder top 76ers, Mavs beat Lakers in double overtime

WASHINGTON - Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 37 points and the Oklahoma City Thunder coasted to a 133-114 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers, while the Dallas Mavericks recorded a 119-115 double-overtime victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday.

Josh Giddey had 20 points as the Thunder won for the fourth time in six games. Jalen Williams and Tre Mann each scored 14 points.

With a 67-57 lead at halftime, the Thunder scored on eight straight possessions in the third quarter to take an 85-78 lead. Mike Muscala's second 3-pointer of the quarter made it 97-80, and the Thunder never looked back at a later stage.

Joel Embiid had 30 points and 10 rebounds for the Sixers, and James Harden had 24 points and 15 assists.

Luka Doncic finished with 35 points, 14 rebounds and 13 assists for his 56th career triple-double for the Mavs, which was highlighted by his pair of clutch 3-pointers.

The Slovenian guard hit game-tying shots from beyond the arc in the final seconds of regulation and the first overtime.

Los Angeles clawed back from a 19-point deficit in the first quarter and were on the brink of a win late in regulation, but were overpowered by Doncic's flair.

Russell Westbrook, who scored a season-high 28 points, made two free throws with 11.8 seconds left for a 101-98 advantage. Doncic calmly sank a tying 3-pointer with six seconds left. Los Angeles guard Troy Brown missed a 3-pointer at the regulation buzzer.

LeBron James hit two free throws to put the Lakers up 108-105 late in the first overtime, but Doncic hit another tying 3-pointer with 47.8 seconds left. Christian Wood blocked James' layup attempt before the buzzer, sending the game into the second overtime, where Doncic hit a go-ahead layup midway and the Mavs went through.

Wood added 24 points and 14 rebounds. Tim Hardaway Jr. had 22 points and eight rebounds for Dallas. James had 24 points, 16 rebounds and nine assists for the Lakers.

In Portland, Damian Lillard scored a season-high 50 points, but it was not enough in the Trail Blazers' 119-113 defeat at the hands of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Boston Celtics pulled away in the fourth quarter to get past the Brooklyn Nets 109-98 for their fifth straight victory.

Gabe Vincent scored a career-best 28 points and the Miami Heat nailed a 108-102 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks, who were without the two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Pascal Siakam poured in 35 points to lead the Toronto Raptors over the Charlotte Hornets 124-114 to secure their first three-game winning streak of the season.
