Highlights of foreign congratulatory messages on 20th CPC National Congress

Leaders of foreign political parties, government officials, international organizations, and lawmakers worldwide have congratulated the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and General Secretary Xi Jinping of the committee on the opening of the 20th CPC National Congress. In their congratulatory messages, they spoke highly of the CPC's remarkable achievements and its important contributions to improving the well-being of the Chinese people and people in the rest of the world.

President of the Cameroon People's Democratic Movement (CPDM) and also Cameroonian President Paul Biya expressed his congratulations to the CPC, Chinese leaders and the Chinese people on behalf of all members of the CPDM, voicing confidence that the congress will inject new impetus into the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

Under the strong leadership of General Secretary Xi Jinping over the years, China has made great achievements in economic and social development, from which developing countries have learned successful experience, Nepali President Bidya Devi Bhandari said.

The high-level governmental exchanges as well as those between political parties of the two countries are conducive to accelerating the development of bilateral relations, Bhandari said.

President of Seychelles Wavel Ramkalawan expressed the confidence that the 20th CPC National Congress will draw on past achievements and set new goals and tasks to guide China through building a great and prosperous modern country and realizing the second centenary goal of building a modern socialist country and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

Kiribati President Taneti Maamau commended the Chinese government for its unswerving commitment to peace and development, pursuit of harmonious coexistence between humanity and nature, and promotion of mutually beneficial cooperation.

The government and people of Kiribati wish the congress a complete success and look forward to greater development of socialism with Chinese characteristics, Maamau said.

The congress is taking place at a critical moment when the world is undergoing profound changes, said President of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and also Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.

Sharif said that he is convinced that during the congress, Chinese leaders, with their broad and farsighted vision, will map out the progress and prosperity of the Chinese nation.

Leader of the Barbados Labour Party and also Barbadian Prime Minister Mia Mottley extended warm congratulations and best wishes to General Secretary Xi and the Chinese people on the achievements China has made in the past decade.

The 20th CPC National Congress marks a new journey for China's development and China will play a greater role in international affairs, said Mottley.

The Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative and other political proposals proposed by General Secretary Xi will contribute to building a world of universal security and common prosperity, said Milorad Dodik, president of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats and Serb member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Expressing gratitude to the CPC for its support to the party, government and people of South Sudan, James Wani Igga, deputy chairman of the Sudan People's Liberation Movement Party (SPLM) and vice-president of South Sudan, said he stands ready to continue to strengthen the special friendly cooperative relations with the CPC in various fields.

Expressing his belief that the 20th CPC National Congress will be remembered in history and lead China to a brighter future, Vladimir Orlic, vice-president of the Serbian Progressive Party and speaker of the National Assembly of Serbia, said the CPC, which focuses on its second centenary goal, will make major and pioneering decisions charting the course for China's future development.

The CPC remains committed to the principle of wholeheartedly serving the people, and has brought prosperity and happiness to the Chinese people, said Abdulla Yameen, leader of the Progressive Party of Maldives and former president of the Maldives.

Mizuho Fukushima, head of the Social Democratic Party of Japan, expressed her wish that the CPC will achieve greater development and make more contributions to eradicating poverty in the world, safeguarding global peace and protecting the Earth.

Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, extended his sincere congratulations on the convening of the 20th CPC National Congress and expected the congress to make greater contributions to peace and prosperity in Northeast Asia as well as to global peace. He hoped that South Korea-China friendship and cooperation will grow stronger with time.

With its eyes set on the new era, the CPC has led China in forging ahead relentlessly along the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics and achieving national prosperity, which has won admiration and praise from the world, said Bayanjargal Tsogtgerel, chairman of the Mongolian National Democratic Party.

Under the leadership of the CPC, a friendly China will continue to advance along the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics, said Ata Serdarov, chairman of the Democratic Party of Turkmenistan.

For more than 100 years, the CPC has gone through a glorious journey of struggle and victory, and led the Chinese economy to the forefront of the world, said Gennady Zyuganov, chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation.

Heinz Bierbaum, president of the Party of the European Left, said that the convening of the 20th CPC National Congress is of great significance, and that his party looks forward to further strengthening its relations with the CPC.

The 20th CPC National Congress is convened at a time when the great cause of the Chinese people enters a new stage, said Hilal Hilal, assistant secretary-general of Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party of Syria.

Under the leadership of the CPC, the Chinese people have made great progress in such fields as politics, economy and culture, he added.

The 20th CPC National Congress is an important milestone in the history of the CPC's development, said Abou el-Fadhl Baadji, general secretary of Algeria's National Liberation Front, adding his party is willing to enhance communication, consultation and experience exchange with the CPC.

The CPC has become an important example for countries around the world to learn about state governance and poverty alleviation, as well as improving people's well-being and promoting people-centered development, said Solly Afrika Mapaila, general secretary of the South African Communist Party.

Through the convening of the congress, the CPC will advance to new victories, said Jeronimo Osa Osa Ecoro, general secretary of the Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea, adding that his party is willing to continue to deepen its friendly relations with the CPC as well as the friendship between the people of the two countries.

Sigmar Gabriel, former leader of the Social Democratic Party of Germany and former vice-chancellor and ex-minister for foreign affairs of Germany, said he believes that the 20th CPC National Congress will bring new solutions to global issues for humanity, and expects Germany and China to enhance the willingness and ability of all countries to jointly solve human crises through international cooperation.

The 20th CPC National Congress will lead China's efforts in safeguarding world peace, promoting the building of a fairer international order, and uniting global progressive forces to jointly bridge the gap between the rich and the poor and tackle climate change and other important issues, said Massimo D'Alema, former prime minister of Italy and president of Italianieuropei Foundation.

The Central Committee of the Cambodian People's Party said that the party fully supports Xi's vision of building a human community with a shared future, and stands ready to continuously consolidate the ironclad friendship between the two sides and jointly build a Cambodia-China community with a shared future.

Zhang Ming, secretary-general of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), said that the SCO members appreciate and speak highly of the great achievements China has scored in its development under the CPC's leadership.

They are confident that the successful convening of the congress will create new conditions and new opportunities for China and other SCO members to comprehensively deepen cooperation and build an even closer SCO community with a shared future, Zhang said.

Noting that the 20th CPC National Congress is an important event in China's political life, Alassane Ouattara, leader of the Rally of Houphouetists for Democracy and Peace of Cote d'Ivoire and the country's president, said that he is willing to continue to promote the in-depth development of relations between the two parties, and deepen the friendship between the two countries for the benefit of their people.

The CPC has led China in firmly following the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics, ushering in a great new era as it champions global development and promotes common prosperity of countries throughout Asia, Africa, Latin America and the whole world at large, said Dinesh Gunawardena, leader of the Mahajana Eksath Peramuna and prime minister of Sri Lanka.

Gaston Browne, leader of the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party and the country's prime minister, said that the 20th CPC National Congress will lead China to new achievements by reviewing the past work.

Under the leadership of the CPC, the Chinese government and people have made great achievements in such fields as poverty alleviation and green development, said Solomon Islands Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare.

Sogavare said that his government will firmly support China in building a modern socialist country, and make joint efforts to promote the building of a human community with a shared future.

Under the remarkable leadership of the CPC, China has become a world economic powerhouse, and this achievement is admirable, said Evo Morales, chairperson of Bolivia's Movement Towards Socialism party and former Bolivian president.

Under the outstanding leadership of the CPC, China has scored remarkable achievements and made significant contributions to safeguarding world peace and stability and boosting development and prosperity, said Hun Manet, member of the Cambodian People's Party's Permanent Committee and the country's prime minister candidate.

He said that the Cambodian side stands ready to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with China, and work more closely to build a Cambodia-China community with a shared future, so as to better benefit the two countries and their people.

Since its founding, the CPC has been making unremitting efforts for China's development, said Simplice Mathieu Sarandji, national executive secretary of the Central African Republic's United Hearts Movement (MCU) party and president of the country's National Assembly, adding that the MCU is willing to learn from the CPC's experience in its prolonged struggle and development.

Seini Oumarou, president of Niger's National Movement for the Development of Society party and president of the country's National Assembly, expressed his sincere admiration for the incredible achievements the Chinese people have made in national liberation and economic and social development under the leadership of the CPC.

The 20th CPC National Congress will have a profound influence on China's development in the next five years and beyond, said Shalva Papuashvili, political secretary of the Political Council of Georgian Dream-Democratic Georgia party and chairman of the Parliament of Georgia.

This year is important for China as it is striving for its second centenary goal, and this congress is closely linked to the future of the Chinese people, said Horace Chang, general secretary of the Jamaica Labour Party.

Chang, also deputy prime minister of Jamaica and minister of National Security, wished the congress a complete success.

In the past decade, the Chinese Dream and the Belt and Road Initiative proposed by Xi had a positive impact on the world, and created a favorable international atmosphere for countries worldwide to enhance cooperation and work together to build a just, sound and peaceful world order, said Pushpa Kamal Dahal, also known as Prachanda, chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Center) and former prime minister.

The Global Development Initiative and the Global Security Initiative proposed by Xi are conducive to promoting world peace and development, said Robert Fico, leader of the Direction-Social Democracy party and former prime minister of Slovakia.

He noted that the 20th CPC National Congress is of key significance for building China into a modern country.

The achievements of the CPC belong not only to China and the Chinese people, but also to humanity, said Dogu Perincek, chairman of the Patriotic Party of Turkiye.

Ivica Dacic, president of the Socialist Party of Serbia, said that he believes that the 20th CPC National Congress will be an important gathering for fully implementing the Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and embarking on a new journey toward building a modern socialist country in all respects.

Under the guidance of the basic principles of Marxism-Leninism and scientific socialism, the CPC will surely march towards a more successful future, said General Secretary of the Communist Party of India D. Raja.

Damian Gjiknuri, general secretary of the Socialist Party of Albania, said he expects that the important decisions to be made at the 20th CPC National Congress will bring more benefits to the Chinese people, lead China to greater achievements and make greater contributions to promoting world peace and development.

Responding to the call of the times and keeping improving itself, the CPC has achieved great accomplishments and gained prestige in the international arena, said Aleksei Sokol, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus.

Former president of the European Commission and former Italian prime minister Romano Prodi said he sincerely expects China to contribute Chinese solutions to facilitate the development of the global economy as a responsible major country.

The French side is keenly aware of the significance of the 20th CPC National Congress, and expects the meeting to further advance world peace and international cooperation, said Jean-Pierre Raffarin, former French prime minister.
