I am delighted to congratulate China Daily Hong Kong Edition on its 25th anniversary. Coinciding with the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to the motherland and the implementation of “one country, two systems” in Hong Kong, it is truly a shared moment of celebration. 

China Daily, rooted in Beijing with branches in Hong Kong and several major cities around the world, has a wide scope of international readers. Its persistence in pertinent reporting and professional analysis enables readers to better understand news stories from different perspectives. 

Over the past 25 years, the practice of “one country, two systems” in Hong Kong has been a resounding success. The next five years will be a crucial period when Hong Kong marches on from governance toward development and prosperity. I trust that CDHK, with its immense impact and influence, will continue to play a significant role in telling the stories of Hong Kong to its readers worldwide.
