Macao holds international infrastructure forum

The 13th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum opens in Macao on Wednesday morning with speakers from more than a dozen countries.

Macao Chief Executive Ho Iat-seng attended the opening ceremony hosted by Fang Qiuchen, chairman of the China International Contractors Association.

Keynote speakers in the morning include Li Fei, assistant minister of China's Ministry of Commerce, and Lou Qiliang, president of CRRC Corporation Limited.

Malaysian Minister of Transport Datuk Seri Ir. Dr. Wee Ka Siong, Bangladesh State Minister, Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, Md. Mahbub Ali, and Angola Minister of Energy and Water João Baptista Borges delivered speeches by video.

The two-day meeting also features a series of panels on green and sustainable infrastructure building for developing economies across continents. Some discussions will be devoted to Latin American needs.

The event, co-organized by the China International Contractors Association and the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute, was attended by over 1,300 officials, diplomats, businesspeople and scholars from the Chinese mainland, Macao SAR and overseas countries.
