BEIJING - Shanghai Shenhua claimed a 3-1 win over Hebei FC, while Wang Qiuming's equalizer helped Tianjin Jinmen Tiger held Chengdu Rongcheng to a 1-1 draw in the 2022 Chinese Super League on Thursday.

Cao Yunding provided a moment of inspiration as he pounced on Liu Ruofan's blocked shot, giving Shanghai a 1-0 lead in the 50th minute. Three minutes later, Zhu Chenjie struck a penalty for Shenhua after Peng Xinli was fouled by Hebei defender Ding Haifeng.

In a match held under heavy rain, Gan Chao opened the scoring in the 18th minute with a thunderous shot inside the top right corner for Chengdu, but Wang broke Chengdu's hearts as he tapped in from close-range in the 60th minute

Another penalty from Peng in the 68th minute secured the win for Shanghai although Hebei's Zhang Wei pulled one back with a header in stoppage time.

"We have expected that it would be tough to break their defense; our players on the pitch did a fantastic job in the second half and we sealed the win," said Shenhua coach Wu Jingui.
