WARSAW - Robert Lewandowski wants to leave Bayern Munich as "he hasn't felt respected by the people in charge for months," his agent Pini Zahavi told the German paper Bild on Monday.

"For Robert Lewandowski, FC Bayern has been a history. Robert wants to leave FC Bayern after eight years in which he gave the club everything. Now, at almost 34, he has a chance to fulfill a lifetime dream and join the club he always dreamed of," Zahavi said in an interview with Bild that was published on Monday.

The agent emphasized that the Bayern's authorities should have shown more respect for the striker.

"For Robert, the matter is very clear as he wants to leave FC Bayern this summer. Nobody cares about money here, neither Robert nor me. He hasn't felt respected by the people in charge for months, that's the truth. Bayern didn't lose the player Lewandowski, but the person Robert," Zahavi added.

According to Bayern, Lewandowski turned down their offer but Zahavi claimed that it's not true.

"There was no such offer. I'll tell you an anecdote from the past year. I came to a meeting with Oliver Kahn, Hasan Salihamidzic and Marco Neppe. I told them, 'What do you think about a contract extension with Robert?'. The answer was silence," the 78-year-old revealed.

Lewandowski's future remains unclear as Barcelona and Bayern are still in talks.
