HK compulsory testing yields 1k COVID-19 cases in 5 areas

Hong Kong’s health officials have found 1,016 preliminary positive COVID-19 cases through compulsory testing exercises in five restricted areas in Yuen Long, Tsing Yi, Sha Tin, Kowloon City and Kwai Chung. 

Thursday’s restriction-testing declarations covered Yiu Tai House of Tin Yiu (II) Estate in Yuen Long and Block 6 of Mayfair Gardens in Tsing Yi, where about 1,320 and 540 people respectively were tested.

The three other declarations covered Ming Yiu Lau of Jat Min Chuen in Sha Tin, Tak Ying House of Tak Long Estate in Kowloon City and Shek On House of Shek Lei (l) Estate in Kwai Chung, where 2,600, 1,503 and 1,570 people respectively took the test. 

Total 232 preliminary positive cases were detected in Yiu Tai House, 39 in Block 6 of Mayfair Gardens, 371 in Ming Yiu Lau, 230 in Tak Ying House and 144 in Shek On House, according to a government press release.

There were also 95 indeterminate cases in the five buildings.
