3 preliminary positive cases found in Kwai Chung, Tai Po testing

Hong Kong’s health officials said on Thursday that they detected three preliminary positive cases of COVID-19 during overnight testing in Kwai Chung and Tai Po. 

One case was detected at Tsui Wo House, Tai Wo Estate in Tai Po and two were at Yam Yue House, Shek Yam East Estate in Kwai Chung, the government said in a press release. 

The authorities made a restriction-testing declaration Wednesday night to cover Tsui Wo House where 2,095 people were tested.

For the compulsory testing exercise in Yam Yue House, 1,835 people were tested. 

The Centre for Health Protection will follow up on each of the cases found. 

An enforcement operation was subsequently carried out to verify that all people in the restricted areas had undergone COVID-19 testing in accordance with the compulsory testing notice.

At Tsui Wo House, 38 people were found to have not undergone compulsory testing, while nobody had violated the requirement at Yam Yue House.
