Guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, journalists should have the will to get down to the grassroots and improve their ability to observe clearly, think profoundly and write powerfully, Huang said.

They should actively present a reliable, admirable and respectable image of China to the world in order to better serve the cause of the Party and the State, he added.

Huang also urged the All-China Journalists Association to strengthen its political and ideological guidance in the country's public communications work and constantly raise its ability to serve journalists.
