Hong Kong goods exports volume up 9.3% in September

HONG KONG - The volume of Hong Kong’s total goods exports rose by 9.3 percent year-on-year in September, according to data released by the city’s Census and Statistics Department on Thursday.

The volume of goods imports for the month increased 15.0 percent compared to the same period last year.

Prices of goods exports and imports rose 6.6 percent and 8.0 percent year-on-year for the month.

On a seasonally adjusted basis, the volume of goods exports decreased 0.7 percent in the third quarter compared with the preceding quarter, while the volume of goods imports increased by 0.6 percent, according to the data.

Comparing the first nine months of the year with the same period in 2020, the volume of goods exports increased by 22.3 percent, while that of goods imports rose 21.5 percent.
