HONG KONG - Hong Kong badminton athlete Chan Ho-yuen won the bronze medal in the Men's Singles WH2 event at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games on Sunday morning.
Chan won over South Korean player KH Kim by 2-0 in a straight set to secure the SAR’s fourth medal at the Games.

Another Hong Kong athlete, Chu Man-kai, will fight for the gold in badminton at 10:30 am today.

"With excellent skills, Chan Ho-yuen gave his all in the competitions and was undaunted in the face of strong opponents, winning a bronze medal in the final match. I believe that all Hong Kong people are overjoyed and I extend my warmest congratulations to him," Lam said.
Chan was the silver medalist in the Badminton Men's Singles WH2 event at the 2018 Asian Para Games. He also won a silver medal in the Men's Singles WH2 event at TOTAL BWF Para-Badminton World Championships held in Basel, Switzerland in 2019.
Secretary for Home Affairs Caspar Tsui Ying-wai also congratulated Chan.
"Chan Ho-yuen demonstrated demeanour of a great athlete with confident swings and strikes. It is a great honour to win the medal and I am very proud of his achievement," he said.
