Guangzhou FC brush aside Chongqing

GUANGZHOU - Guangzhou FC scored three goals in a row to overtake Chongqing Liangjiang Athletic 3-1 in the sixth round of Chinese Super League (CSL) here on Sunday.

In the seventh minute, Ecuadorian forward Miler Bolanos was denied twice by the goalkeeper of Guangzhou FC, while Yin Congyao seized the opportunity to slot the ball into the right corner to help Chongqing lead the game.

Yet Guangzhou FC pulled the goal back 17 minutes later as Wei Shihao met Alan's penalty kick and sent an easy push-shot beside the unsuspecting goalkeeper.

Alan contributed his second assist with a header in the 32nd minute when Gao Zhunyi converted the pass with a powerful volley to get on the scoresheet. Yang Liyu further extended the lead for Guangzhou FC in the second half, while Chongqing found it hard to retrieve the defeat.

In the other three games of the round, Henan Songshan Longmen Football Club edged past Qingdao FC 2-0, Shenzhen FC claimed a 2-1 victory against Cangzhou Mighty Lions, while Shandong Taishan and Guangzhou City had a goalless match.
