Wu Lei, A Lan score twice as China routs Guam in World Cup qualifier

SUZHOU, China - RCD Espanyol striker Wu Lei scored a brace to help China rout Guam 7-0 at a FIFA World Cup qualifier here on Sunday.

Wu Lei netted his second personal goal in the 55th minute when he swept in a pass from teammate Zhang Xizhe to beat helpless Guam goalkeeper Dallas Jaye

The 29-year-old, though being benched for most of this season at the Spanish club Espanyol, showed no signs of rustiness in front of the 198th FIFA-ranked Guam side.

He converted a penalty kick in the 20th minute to put China 1-0 ahead before midfielder Jin Jingdao made it 2-0 in the 39th minute.

Wu netted his second personal goal in the 55th minute when he swept in a pass from teammate Zhang Xizhe to beat helpless Guam goalkeeper Dallas Jaye.

Midfielder Wu Xi scored the fourth goal of the Chinese side in the 60th minute as he latched onto a pass from defender Wang Shenchao and poked it in.

Four minutes later, naturalized player Ai Kesen muscled in a header to put the hosts five goals ahead.

Another naturalized player A Lan, who came on in the second half, scored the last two goals of team China in five minutes.

He tapped in a cross from the left flank in the 83rd minute before netting a header four minutes later.
