CBA: Sichuan thrashes Jiangsu, Beijing defeats Tianjin

ZHUJI - Controlling the rhythm of the game, the Sichuan Blue Whales eased past the Jiangsu Dragons 108-89, while the Beijing Ducks defeated the Tianjin Pioneers 95-84 in the CBA league on Tuesday.

Fang Shuo notched a team-high 33 points for Beijing, followed by Liu Xiaoyu's 28 points. Tianjin's Shi Deshuai scored a game-high 39 points.

Beijing delivered a 10-0 run to establish a 27-11 advantage in the first quarter. Jonathan Gibson demonstrated himself with a 3-pointer after being put on the court. Though Tianjin managed to cut the deficit, the team still lagged behind Beijing 50-35 before the interval.

After the break, the gap was around 15 points until the end of the third quarter. Tianjin's Liu Wei had high shooting accuracy in 3-pointers, but Gibson and Justin Hamilton helped Beijing fight back. In the last period, Zhu Yanxi's continuous scoring sealed the victory for Beijing regardless of Tianjin's effort to narrow the gap.

Elsewhere, edging only one point in the first quarter, Su Ruoyu stood out in the second quarter by contributing 12 points to gift Sichuan a 50-43 lead.

Sichuan dominated the game in the third quarter with Hamed Haddadi and Han Shuo's accurate attacks both inside and outside the paint. Facing Sichuan's high pressure, Jiangsu only relied on Dez Wells' personal breakthrough. Trailing 20 points, Jiangsu could only witness Sichuan grab an easy win.

Han pocketed 25 points and four rebounds, while Haddadi added 23 points. Wells gained 31 points for Jiangsu.
