HONG KONG - Hong Kong reported 18 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, including 13 local cases, bringing the city’s tally to 11,329.

Two of the new infections were untraceable, including that of a 41-year-old woman whose husband was also confirmed infected, the Centre for Health Protection said in a statement. 

The couple worked for the United States Consulate General in Hong Kong and were found with the virus during a mandatory testing operation on Monday, when the city reported 30 new infections.

The other untraceable case involved a 38-year-old information technology engineer who last went to work on Monday.

The five imported cases included two from Pakistan, one each from Turkey, Ukraine and the Philippines.

Starting Tuesday morning, people aged 30 to 59, students aged 16 and above and who study overseas and domestic helpers were allowed to get their vaccine shot. 

Three of the city’s 19 centers that gave BioNtech jabs were fully booked while plenty of slots were available in the remaining 16, especially for next week. There were also slots still available in centers that distributed Sinovac vaccine doses.
