HK logs 15 new COVID-19 cases, 4 untraceable

HONG KONG - Hong Kong reported 15 new COVID-19 infections on Saturday, of which 10 were locally transmitted, bringing the city's overall infection tally to 10,848.

The source of origin of four of the local cases remained unknown, according to a release issued by the Centre for Health Protection.

He sought medical attention at a general outpatient clinic on Thursday. His deep throat saliva sample collected on that day tested positive for the novel coronavirus, according to the statement. 

The second case involved a 42-year-old private doctor who last went to work on Thursday.

The remaining untraceable cases were a 70-year-old retired woman and a 51-year-old housewife.

A total of 244 infections have been recorded in the past 14 days, including 203 local cases of which 75 are from unknown sources, according to the release.

The center has urged residents to keep their guard up, including wearing masks and maintaining hand hygiene, as well as avoiding outbound travel.
