PARIS - Terem Moffi's last-gasp strike handed Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) its first defeat under new coach Mauricio Pochettino as struggling Lorient stunned the defending champion 3-2 at the Stade du Moustoir on Sunday.

The result meant that Lille, who notched a 1-0 win over Dijon later in the day, moved to the top of the standings two points ahead of Lyon, who beat Bordeaux 2-1 on Friday, while PSG dropped to third with three points off the pace-setter.

"We have to keep the positive aspects and move forward," said PSG coach Pochettino.

"Today was an accident, and we need to keep going," the former Tottenham manager added. "It makes us realize that it can happen if we don't play at 100 percent."

All the efforts were rewarded in the closing period as Yoane Wissa scored a sensational solo goal to level for Lorient before Moffi latched on to a long pass from Abergel to score the winner in injury time

Promoted side Lorient, ranking second from the bottom, headed into the game against the capital giant as the underdog, but took a surprise lead when Laurent Abergel slid the ball into the top-left corner in the 36th minute.

Brazilian star Neymar scored two penalties, one in each half, following fouls on him and Mauro Icardi.

The visitors were eager for a third but ran into a compact Lorient defense and goalkeeper Matthieu Dreyer also made some brilliant saves to keep the hope for the hosts.

All the efforts were rewarded in the closing period as Yoane Wissa scored a sensational solo goal to level for Lorient before Moffi latched on to a long pass from Abergel to score the winner in injury time.

The only consolation for PSG fans came from Neymar, as the attacking ace expressed that he wanted to stay at the club beyond this season and called on Kylian Mbappe to join him.

"I am very happy at the moment, things have changed a lot," the world's most expensive player told TF1. "I can't exactly explain why. But today I am feeling good. I have adapted. I am calmer. I'm very happy here. I want to stay at PSG."

"I hope Kylian will want to stay too," Neymar added. "Of course, that's the wish of all the supporters.

PSG's defeat gifted the chance to Lille, who later hosted stuttering Dijon. Midfielder Yusuf Yazici scored in the first half to send Christophe Galtier's side to the pole position.

Elsewhere, Monaco extended its winning streak to five games with a 2-1 victory at Nantes. Guillermo Maripan and Kevin Volland were on target while Renaud Emond pulled one back for Nantes with only seven minutes left to play.
