Seven players in double digits as Guangdong smashes Shanxi in CBA

ZHUJI - With seven players contributed in double-digit numbers, the Guangdong Southern Tigers smashed the Shanxi Loongs 130-91 in the second phase of the 2020-21 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league on Thursday.

Marshon Brooks of Guangdong grabbed a game-high 27 points, and Zhou Peng put 18 on the scoreboard. For Shanxi, Jamaal Franklin contributed 20 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists, and Yuan Shuai added 14 points. Eric Moreland made his first appearance for Shanxi this season but only got three points and five rebounds.

Jamaal Franklin and Yan Pengfei's two plus one narrowed the gap to four at the start of the second quarter, but Shanxi failed to continue the momentum. Guangdong made several offensive runs in this quarter and ended the first half with a 22 points lead.

Marshon Brooks's hot shooting helped Guangdong expand the gap to 33 points in the third quarter, and Shanxi's poor offensive performance made it hard for them to keep chasing.
