ISLAMABAD - Pakistan summoned an Indian diplomat on Thursday lodging protest over "unprovoked ceasefire violations" by Indian military along the Line of Control (LoC) in the disputed Kashmir area, the Foreign Ministry of Pakistan said.

Pakistan and India had declared a ceasefire along the LoC in 2003. But both sides have routinely exchanged fire and accused each other of ceasefire violations

A 33-year-old man was killed due to "indiscriminate and unprovoked" firing by the Indian occupation forces in Bagsar sector of the LoC on Wednesday, according to a statement from the foreign ministry.

The Indian forces along the LoC and the Working Boundary (WB) have been "continuously targeting civilian populated areas" with artillery fire, heavy-caliber mortars and automatic weapons, according to the statement.
