HK reports three new COVID-19 cases, tally touches 5,313

HONG KONG - Hong Kong reported three new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, including one local infection and two imported cases, the Centre for Health Protection (CHP) said.   

In a statement issued on Thursday afternoon, the CHP said the city’s tally of confirmed coronavirus cases stood at 5,313.The new confirmed local case was reported after three consecutive days that Hong Kong did not have any local infections.

The new local case involved a 57-year-old woman who lived at Lok Man Sun Chuen in To Kwa Wan and was linked to her colleague, a 42-year-old man whose infection was confirmed earlier, according to the CHP.

The two imported cases were from Germany and the United States, it added.

According to the Hospital Authority, a total of 103 confirmed coronavirus patients were being treated in 18 public hospitals as of Thursday, including nine patients in critical condition and four in serious condition.

In a separate statement, the Department of Health announced that its 13 Student Health Service centers, except the one in the West Kowloon Government Offices, and 18 Elderly Health Service centers will gradually resume normal services starting Monday.
