4 dead, dozens injured in Beirut warehouse explosion

BEIRUT - Four people were killed and more than 50 were wounded in a warehouse explosion in a Beirut building on Friday, al-Jadeed TV channel reported.

The warehouse blast caused the explosion of a petrol tank that led to a massive fire in the area, al-Jadeed reported.

The owner of the warehouse had stored petrol there and was arrested, it added.

Civil Defense teams are saving people trapped in their houses. Some of the injured children suffer severe burns, reported the TV channel.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the explosion.
