DALIAN - Henrique Dourado converted a late penalty as Henan Jianye drew 1-1 with Dalian Professional in the Chinese Super League (CSL) here on Friday.

Dalian and Henan had both lost in the first round of matches, with both sides eager to pocket a win and get points on the board

Dalian and Henan had both lost in the first round of matches, with both sides eager to pocket a win and get points on the board.

In the 47th minute, Sam Larsson broke the deadlock for Dalian with a long-range piledriver.

However, Henan was awarded a penalty in the 84th minute when Ivo was fouled, and Dourado coolly converted from the spot.

Dourado thought he had won the game for Henan in injury-time, but his effort was ruled out by VAR after Ivo was adjudged to have been offside in the build-up.

In the other game in the CSL's Dalian division, Jiangsu Suning and Shandong Luneng Taishan shared the spoils after a 0-0 stalemate.

Following a goalless first half, Jiangsu took the upper hand after Shandong debutant Tamas Kadar played just three minutes before being shown a red card in the 70th minute.

With a man advantage, Jiangsu had more chances but Mubarak Wakaso's powerful shot flew just wide.

Despite Kadar's tackle resulting in his sending off, Shandong head coach Li Xiaopeng acknowledged that the Hungarian defender had made an accidental mistake.
