SARAJEVO - Edin Dzeko will most likely leave AS Roma this summer as the club may be forced to sell its star striker and captain, local media reported on Saturday.

Roma has already fired 250 employees since the pandemic started, and it's likely that they will try to improve the financial situation by selling their star striker and captain

Last year, Dzeko, who is also the captain of the Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) national team, extended his Roma contract for another two years despite the fact that the FC Inter officials showed a great interest in seeing Dzeko on their team.

According to the Italian magazine Corriere dello Sport, Roma will most likely be forced to cut costs as it is "destined to remain for the second consecutive year outside the Champions League."

Roma has already fired 250 employees since the pandemic started, and it's likely that they will try to improve the financial situation by selling Dzeko.

The club executives allegedly told Dzeko that extending the engagement is not a sure thing since the club may be forced to downsize, and Dzeko's 7.5 million euros per season salary could be the first on the list.
