ROME - Roma ended their losing streak on Wednesday as they came from behind to beat Parma 2-1 while Napoli sent Genoa to the relegation zone after a 2-1 away victory.

Napoli's all-time top scorer Dries Mertens put the Partenopei in front before the break, while Genoa got back on level terms with Edoardo Goldaniga's header straight after the restart

Roma's pressure piled up after three consecutive defeats but they climbed out of an early hole to overhaul Parma at Olimpico Stadium.

Juraj Kucka gave the away side the lead nine minutes into the game as the Slovakian converted a spot-kick after Bryan Cristante had fouled in the box.

The Giallorossi found the equalizer on the stroke of the half-time when Henrikh Mkhitaryan finished with a first-time strike on Bruno Peres's assist.

The home side turned around the game completely in the 57th-minute with Jordan Veretout's stunner out of the box as the Frenchman unleashed a blockbuster into the corner.

Napoli's coach Gennaro Gattuso's tactic change proved decisive as substitute Hirving Lozano turned in the winner just two minutes after coming off the bench.

The defeat, coupled with Lecce's shock victory over Lazio on Tuesday, dropped Genoa into the relegation zone with 27 points.

Atalanta extended their all-time Serie A winning streak to nine after a comfortable 2-0 home victory over Sampdoria with Rafael Toloi and Luis Muriel on target.

The Dea provisionally moved to the third place with 66 points, followed by Inter Milan with one game in hand.

In other games on Wednesday, Torino conquered Brescia 3-1, Bologna suffered a 2-1 home defeat to Sassuolo, while Fiorentina shared the spoils with Cagliari in a goalless tie.
