Chinese mainland reports no new cases transmitted locally

BEIJING/WUHAN/HARBIN- No new domestically transmitted cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) were reported on the Chinese mainland on Wednesday, the National Health Commission said on Thursday.

The commission said two imported cases, one in Shanghai and the other in Guangdong province, were reported Wednesday

The commission said two imported cases, one in Shanghai and the other in Guangdong province, were reported Wednesday while two new suspected cases, also both imported, were reported  in Shanghai.

There no reported deaths related to the disease, according to the commission. 

In Hubei, Wednesday marked the 33rd day consecutive day that no new confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported in the province, the provincial health commission said Thursday.

Hubei also had no existing confirmed COVID-19 cases as of Wednesday, it added.

In northeast China's Heilongjiang province, the provincial health commission also said that they had no new confirmed cases as of Wednesday.

The province had reported a total of 558 locally-transmitted confirmed COVID-19 cases and 386 imported cases, the commission said.

It added that 509 locally-transmitted COVID-19 patients and 284 imported cases had been discharged from hospital after recovery.

By Wednesday, the province still had 36 domestically-transmitted confirmed cases including 16 asymptomatic cases, and 102 imported confirmed cases including two asymptomatic cases, the commission said.
