HK passenger of Diamond Princess cruise ship dies

HONG KONG – The Security Bureau on late Saturday confirmed that a Hong Kong passenger of the Diamond Princess cruise ship died Friday night in Japan after contracting the novel coronavirus.

The Immigration Department said it is providing assistance to the deceased’s family.

Another Hong Kong passenger of the ship who passed away earlier was a British passport holder.

Twenty-nine Hong Kong passengers of the Diamond Princess who have contracted the disease are still receiving treatment in Japan, while 15 passengers who are close contacts with them are under mandatory quarantine.
