Coronavirus: Macao confirms eighth case of infection

Macao confirmed its eighth case of coronavirus infection on Sunday. It was also the first local resident who has contracted the disease.

Health authorities in Macao are tracing the patient’s epidemiological history and close contacts. 

According to the health authorities, the patient said she hasn’t  visited Hubei province or been in close contact with known virus carriers.

She visited a hospital in Zhuhai and received treatment there for her shingles between Jan 10 to 17. She also visited Zhongshan city of Guangdong province between Jan 22 to 23. 

On Jan 27, she sought medical help in Centro Hospitalar Conde de S Januário in Macao after developing a fever and cough. On Jan 30 and 31, she visited Kiang Wu Hospital for persistent high fever.
